P Group are exploring the story 'Cosmic' written by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Cosmic tells the story of Liam, a 13 year old boy, who, through a series of events, ends up captaining a rocket in space full of children for scientists who believe he is the dad of one of the children!
Those students working at an Engagement Model level have been exploring the story through their senses. This has included a trip on a virtual rollercoaster, searching for a flag in sand and 'floating in space'.
Those working on more subject specific targets, have been working on symbol recognition to support their reading skills. As shown in the photos, Students use a variety of alternative communication aids to access their work these include touch screens and an eye-gaze.
