As our Year 11 learners prepare for the exciting move from school to college, we were delighted to welcome ELCAS into school to deliver a fantastic transition workshop.
Moving on to further education is a significant milestone and can bring a mixture of emotions, including excitement, anticipation, nervousness, and uncertainty. During the workshop, learners were encouraged to explore how they might be feeling about this next chapter and to recognise that these feelings are completely normal.
The ELCAS team led engaging discussions and activities focusing on:
-
Understanding anxiety and worry
-
Recognising how our bodies react to different emotions
-
Identifying what learners are looking forward to about college
-
Developing practical coping strategies for managing worries and building confidence
-
Learning techniques to support emotional wellbeing during periods of change
Learners discussed the opportunities that college will bring, as well as some of the challenges they may face. Together, they explored a range of helpful strategies, including positive thinking techniques, relaxation methods, planning ahead, and knowing where to seek support when needed.
We were incredibly proud of our Year 11 learners throughout the session. They demonstrated excellent participation, maturity, and honesty when sharing their thoughts and experiences. Their engagement and willingness to embrace new ideas showed just how prepared they are for the exciting journey ahead.
A huge thank you to ELCAS for providing such a valuable and supportive workshop. The session has helped our learners feel more confident about their transition to college and equipped them with practical tools to support their wellbeing as they move towards the next stage of their education.
We wish all of our Year 11 learners every success as they continue preparing for their bright futures! 🌟
