Here’s what 3B have been up to this week?

On our return to school, 3B began a new class text. With the help of the pupils, Mrs Laing chose Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them by J.K. Rowling. This book is actually a screenplay and very different to our usual texts. The pupils have been interested in learning about the characters, witchcraft and wizardry, but also about different scenes and the descriptions of camera angles and directions. However, pupils have mostly had their imagination captured by the plethora of unusual magical beasts. During our reading session pupils designed their very own fantastic beast and described it’s appearance, behaviours and powers. Mrs Laing and I were so impressed by the imagination and creativity of our learners. Pupils then presented their creations and engaged in a question and answer session, using this opportunity to further expand the description of their beast.
